ABOUT US
ESPOMUN is the Model United Nations of ESPOL, European School of Political and Social Sciences. Founded in 2015 by a group of students passionate about international relations, ESPOMUN aims to introduce students to diplomacy and debate on global challenges.
Every week courses are offered to familiarize its members with the different rules of procedure specific to MUNs and to prepare them for public speaking in the form of mini-simulations.
Since its creation, many delegates have represented ESPOMUN at MUN conferences in France and abroad, such as the prestigious Harvard WorldMUN. ESPOMUN also organizes its own conference since three years each year in February.
The Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations, which goal is to promote human rights. Each participant represents a country in a UN committee as the Security Council or UNICEF for example. He or she must defend the country's position and interests through negotiations, the objective being the writing of a final resolution.
Participating in a MUN is more than an enriching debate, it is an opportunity to network with delegates from around the world, to develop oral skills and critical thinking as well as to learn more on global issues.
« More than ever before in human history, we share a common destiny. We can master it, only if we face it together. And that, my friends, is why we have the United Nations »
Kofi Annan, Dec 1999 (United Nations former Secretary-General)
